You may not use the Service to:

  • violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right, including intellectual-property, privacy, contract, or accounting/tax rules;
  • upload data you do not have the right to submit, including data obtained without the data subject’s authorization;
  • misrepresent AI-generated output as certified accounting, tax, or legal advice;
  • engage in fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, or financing unlawful activity, including by manipulating books or records;
  • send spam, phishing, or other unsolicited bulk communications;
  • upload or transmit malware, ransomware, worms, time bombs, or any other malicious code;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, breach authentication or security measures, or access non-public areas of the Service without authorization;
  • scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service except via documented APIs and within published rate limits;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or models powering the Service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
  • resell, white-label, or expose the Service to third parties without our prior written agreement;
  • use the Service to develop a competing product or to train any machine-learning model;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service or any other user’s use, including by generating excessive load, bypassing rate limits, or running automated tools beyond reasonable, account-level use;
  • access or use the Service from a U.S.-embargoed jurisdiction or in violation of U.S. export or sanctions laws.

3. AI-specific rules

You may not:

  • submit prompts or data designed to elicit unsafe, deceptive, or illegal output;
  • use the Service to generate content intended to mislead investors, auditors, regulators, or any other party about a company’s financial position;
  • use the Service to generate output that you then present as having been produced by a credentialed accountant, CPA, or other professional, without disclosure.

4. Enforcement

We investigate suspected violations. We may suspend or terminate access without prior notice when we reasonably believe a violation is occurring or has occurred. Where reasonable, we will give you a chance to cure. We may preserve and disclose information to law enforcement when required by law or when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect users, the public, or our rights.

5. Reporting

To report a suspected violation of this AUP, email legal@chartofaccounts.ai. Please include URLs, account identifiers, and any evidence you can safely share.
